is the t5 in the 6cyl the same and as strong as the ones in the v8s. thanks

Hey mate
Im fairly sure they are both exactly the same except for the bellhousing and I think the input shaft . . . Can someone clarify that the shaft is differant as im not 100% sure . . . Cheers Grant |

Yes, the input shaft is a different length. The V8 T5 also had different ratios, but it is not stronger than the Six T5.

I have a feeling (not 100% sure though) that all v8 t5's were World Class boxes, whereas only the EB11 onwards i6 got the World class boxes.
In overall 'strength' there isn't much difference as most t5's behind modified falcons are likely to die as a direct or indirect result of flex under torque, but the WC boxes do have better synchro's and bearings so if you can choose between the two go a WC.

WC (World Class) was a classification used. XF-EB1 i6's had non World Class, whereas EB11-EL got World Class t5's which has needle input bearings, better synchro's and something else I can't remember.
AU i6's got tremec t5's with a different shifter position, I don't think there were any real differences internally except for slightly different ratios in the VCT engines (although I haven't seen an AU t5 pulled down so anyone feel free to correct if there are differences as I also wish to know).
