just wondering if it would be possible/reasonably priced
to put the new BA Mark2 6spd into an EF
assuming you could get one from ford
would they fit nicely behind an EF engine?

i think it'd be cheaper to get a T56 conversion from mal wood than to buy the BA 6 speed gearbox on its own from ford

Yeah $8g is about right.

Not really worth it. If you consider the fuel you'll save.

someone has done it in an AU XR6 the kit is like $7500 (including american box and all the other parts tailshaft etc, the T56 is longer than the T5 and the shifter comes throiugh the floor too far forward (a modification is needed - included in kit)

unless your running a 4.11 diff and you have a turbo or supercharger and dont want high revvin on the freeway or have to much money to spend and no brain its definately not worth while doing it!

what mods have you even done so far? the money would be much more worthwhile spent on getting power/brakes/suspension/ice then a 6 speed.

Stuff 6speed...

Just wack the 308:1 dif in it for eco.

There is no point to a 6th gear!

I'd choose a 5sp BA over a 6sp.... the gearing would be too short in a 6sp..

I think..

Really u only need a 4sp. 5th is only an overdrive for the eco..

Go chuck one of those truck 12sp gearboxes in your car. 0-100 in 5 minutes :P

I guess... if i was racing id choose a 5sp... but i cant say ive ever driven a 6sp so who am I to complain...

why would you even want a 6 speed. You could only go to the speed limiter anyway so there is not much point.
