Has anyone here put a 9" into an E series?
I want one, but I've been told that you have to cut/bash your floor pan in for the housing to fit. Is this just another t*** telling me crap?

what sort of power are you running?
unless its something ridiculour why would you need a 9inch?
theyre big heavy and suck plenty of power..

as for it physically fitting, not sure about the floor pan, but arent most of them leaf sprung? ie you would need to weld on all the brackets and so forth to suit coil springs, figured out a handbrake arrangement, figure out a tailshaft solution..

sounding like a very big job to me :)

What would be the alternative for a 9" for a mild power car? Ive got a 9" in my 351 falcon at the moment with 200rkwk and am wondering if I 'need' that diff or if I could save some hp and go smaller, but need to know it will last.

Made some calls today, 9" hosing set up to bolt str8 in $795. use your existing BTR 28 splines till they break. (approx $600 to replace with 31 splines) $330 for 2.75 highway centre. weight difference negligible in street trim, will work out about the same as I'm swapping the BTR 4 speed for lighter, stronger C4 anyway. non-abs cars only.

Stick with the btr till it goes bang, there a very solid unit. Ive heard nothing but good things about them and have had no trouble with mine.

Why are you going 2.75's?? Kinda defeats the purpose of building a bullitproof car

btr is already going bang when I get on or off the throttle, and whineing/growling the rest of the time, so rather than waste 6-8 hunge reco-ing it, only to drop in 9 inch later, I'll drop 9 inch in soon-ish. can't afford to have big costs/downtimes sneaking up on me, so I'll do driveline first, engine second. 2.75 centre is So the lack of overdrive in C4 doesn't throw economy out the window while car is still daily driver. don't worry, once monster donk is built, it'll be copping 4.11's for strip duty.
