Don't knock him just for trying something different...

Give it a go, why not. Are XG and ED rotors interchangable? If you can fit the rotors you'll need to mount the sensors somehow. The rest of the system should be easy enough to figure out.

Hi all
I would like a ute with abs but this one was going very cheap like under $500 running so i thought what the hell mod this one instead also the deciding factor was today when i bought a ed for $50 with abs .
Mr Tickford-6 how do you know that don't know how to brake properly?
you don't even know me .
I don't mean to piss anybody off just thought we all share a common and cool interest so we could learn from each other and help each other out

been throught this befor

i can stop my mums EB gli no ABS
in less distance then my ABS can stop my EF XR6

both cars have 225 wide rubber.

but if you like it go for it.

you need wheel speed sensors the ABS pump and ABS brake lines the controll module for the ABS and brake rotors with tone wheels on them.
you'll need to some how mount the sensors at the correct distance from the tone wheel or it won't 'properly' .

basicly if you have a donor car it should have all theparts you need.
But remeber if you fit ABS to car modle that never had ABS as an optoin you will need to get an engineers report and mod plate for the car

Yes, you can use XH rear rotors on an XG to get the tone wheels, but the fronts on an XH are the same as EB/D/F/L.

Pull the fuse, your brakes will work fine without it.

I bet, in a controlled situation when my full attention is on braking, I could whip the ABS's a*** too, but in a panic stop on a wet road, caught by surprise... give me my ABS.

currently is missing one wheel speed sensor. cos it stoped working.

i'm not going to get into a big argument over the worth of abs again.
there was about 5 pages of it in FM one.
but my opinion is just that, mine.

if you don't agree with it fine.

Lol, must be annoying driving an EF then!!!!

Back on topic.

Theortetically all you'd need is the ABS module/computer, sensors, and appropriate rotors. Spose there's the light and diagnostic connector to wire aup as well.

Does ABS computer like to 'talk' with BEM etc?
