I'd be taking the wheels back if you were told that they were to fit an AU.

I'd love to take them back but l got them from queensland on ebay. Has anyone ever cracked spacers? Only need to come out 10mm max and should fill out the gaurds perfect.

no one is actually sure if adaptors are illegal yet
people had clause out of vic roads book but i bet if you look in the nsw it would say the same thing but its just that they have been told by nsw laws they are fine, no one has said they are illegal

Adapters will probably push them out too far, and spacers I wouldn't use as they are weaker, less thread and that.

The problem is if the inspectors don't know what they are what chance have you got.

Got them from autobarn for 19 bucks a pair. Wheels now fit great and fill the gaurds and are not even close to rubbing. Check out my gallery for the new picks. Not the flashiest rims in town but not bad for 550 dollars with new goodyear eagles.

Looking good!
Those rims arent bad at all, nothing over the top and they dont grab the attention from unwanted people as they dont look that "non-stock" however still much better than stock! How far did the rims end up coming out from the hub? 10mm?

Used 1 spacer on each wheel so they are 8mm further out which makes it clear my suspension arm by 8mm. Put them on the back only to bring them out a bit because the offset was way too far in.

Looks good, and glad to hear you resolved it.
Just a word of warning. Contact your insurance company and see if they support the spacers. At the end of the day, the police are not going to notice an 8mm spacer, but if for whatever reason the car gets a complete inspection, but a qualified person, they will find them, and I would suggest your insurance company may have a thing or two to say. Touch wood, but if you had a serious accident, the police would do a complete inspection and they would find the spacers, and again, the insurance company would find out. Just a thought, for the 'just in case' senario! |
