With lowering blocks fitted, and if the shock mounts to the lower (fish?)plate, you need the shock to have the same extended length as std, otherwise you will lose important droop. But you don't need it to have as small a compressed length as std. So to do the swap you would want to fit an extension when you weld the pin on the bottom, or weld on a longer pin with a spacer or washers fitted.

lol @ rambling. ben i still have the pump under the front of the lane and it works so i can rip it out aswell if your interested. i think you said you were coming up on a trip soon, so you can pick it all up then and have a play with them, see what you can come up with

Hey Guys

Thanks for the thoughts, info and rambling. It is all quite educational.

I had given some thought to the concept of having a small 12v pump and a switch to add air and a valve to dump it again. Would be very useful.

Now I have some pondering to do, and will to some research on actual products too.

Brake line locker valves work well you just put them in on a tee piece and leave the other to vent to atmosfier.

Nos solenoids would be good as well as they can take high pressure (1000psi) but your comparing $70 to $120.

You only need a valve that can take 180psi.

i'm going to fitt the auto self leveling from an EA ghia to mine.. just need to get some rear air shocks and some fittings to suit.. the ED Ghia you've got may have most of the stuff you need..
