All modifications will be under a National Code of Practice shortly with all state vehicle safety branches agreeing in principle to the National Code of Practice for light vehicle modifications.
The code is up for comment so now is the time to read the draft and put in your submissions, but believe me there are hundreds of pages and the download from DOTARS takes a while. http://www.dotars.gov.au/transreg/vsb/index.aspx It is in sections so if you want just the area you are modifying there is probably no need to download the whole thing Last edited by hosie on Tue Nov 22, 2005 4:09 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

Let's hope the national code of practice does a better job at unifying the rules than the ADR did!!!

For we E-series owners, I wonder if they are going to take into account the lack of availability of correct offset rims?

Well, I have just sent off an e-mail to the NSW RTA rep regarding this topic. I hope it helps in some small way.
I intend to keep my car for a very long time and want to be able to carry on having aftermarket rims fitted, after all the E-series offsets are longer available.

SORRY........, should I have said "WHEN all the E-series offsetsare no longer available". It does not say "After-all".
AND many of the styles available at the moment do not impress me or will probably not suit MY car.

GT owners were allowed.
basically in WA, you can increase rim width by 1" but must not exceed 7", if the factory rim is >= 7 inch you cant change rim size

Check you're insurance though. *cough*NRMA*cough* only allows 8" wide on E series (except ELGT's as they came with 8.5")
Teh reason I got was that it is unsafe having lots of rubber on the ground.
