OK I ripped my pedal box out today.
What an exercise it was, i've never pulled the dash back before. The pedal box is bent severely, the clutch cable has the silicone coating worn off it in one spot, and the firewall IS cracked. What i want to know is 1- Do ford make a strengthened box, 2- What is the part number of the plate for the firewall, and 3- Can i use my existing clutch cable even though the silicone coating has worn off it in one spot? Cheers.

Replace the clutch cable, chances are is that the binding of the clutch cable has helped crack and bend everything. Ford dont sell a strengthed box, you have to do that yourself. Perhaps get one that is already straight, and gusset that, or repair your own. I THINK mal wood or someone sells a little bracket that helps support the clutch pedal to strengthen it but?

yeh nick thats the path i was more tempted to go down, and also cheaper too.
With my firewall, i dont really want to weld it unless i have to. I was thinking more along the lines of grinding the protruding piece off, make a plate with a hole in it and bolt it up to the firewall. What are people's thoughts, would it work? cheers.

yeh i had a good look at it and i think welding it up at the firewall is the go.
i made a nice thick metal bracket at work which i'll weld onto the pedal box tomorrow, hopefully throw it all back in this weekend so i can finally drive it. the clutch hasn't got long before it will need replacing too.
