Well ive had the manual in my car for about 2 weeks now so much fun.
Are there any issues with keeping the auto ecu, so far only issue it has is on start up it revs to 2,000RPM, and searchs for idle a bit as if it has a lumpyish cam.
Just any issues anyone has had with them, i should know this, but i dont have access to the computer hookup for the ecu anymore.

i have been running the auto ecu for a year now and not any problems, it occassionly hunts for revs once in a blue moon though not as much now as it use too, i am trying to track down a xr6 ecu without luck but got a mate at wreckers looking for me though

Sweet as mate, yeah the wrecker where i got it installed, was speaking to him said you dont actually need the manual ecu, waste of money. But if i need it he got one for me. So easy to install, using their tools and hoist.

ummm... unplug auto, plug in manual :P
i've got manual. imo better way to go!

Ha a***, there is no difference, as an experiment i suppose i might put the manual ECU in and re dyno my car, take both ECU's to the dyno, and do 4 runns, 2 with auto ecu and two with manual ecu.

I am running mine with the auto. Seems to work fine besides the hickup with the rev drops when i push the clutch in. Is slowly correcting itself overtime though so that's a good sign.

If you have the spare money you can always go with a Manual ECU...can't do any harm.

ask samftr. he converted his EF to manual and had an auto ecu in it, and was having a couple of problems. when he went to manual ecu it fixed it all up.

my ed was a auto and i didnt have to modfie the plug.i just diconeted the batt and then reconnected after a hour and it ran fine.
