i was just having a random look inder the dash today cause there was some clicking noise happening when i was depressing the clutch pedal.. i found the nut had come slightly loose which in turn stated to crack the pedal box. so with some reinforcing its now all good.
but yeah check youre nut on the back side of the pin peoples..

Just wondering what kind of reinforcing you did. I am trying to think of creative ways to reinforce it without pulling the whole thing out for welding.

Well that last bit of work from Mal Wood looks tidy, I wonder if he'll make em to that standard on request.

yeah since fitting the pin kit to my car, ive been checking it once a fortnight, as all the talk about cracked pedalboxes/ heavy clutches. fine so far.

the reworked one looks heaps tougher, pity i got mine 3 monthas ago... i wonder if all new ones come like that?

I pm'd the guy on AFF about the new pin he recieved from mal wood, as a replacement for his origanil one.
Asking if he could post a detailed discription of it up in the forum.
If he does I'll get mine modified before I do my install and post details and cost's in making it.
Cheers Paul

I have also sent an email to mal wood regarding this pin upgrade although the thing just bounced back, server troubles perhaps.

From speaking to Mal wood it seems as though this or some similar modification has been added to the standard design now.

Heres an email quote aswell

"
The pedal pin costs $85 plus freight at this time. There will be a minor
price increase in the near future to cover the extra plate. We did the one
shown with the second welded plate as a one off, but all pins supplied from
now on will include the floating (larger) support plate as shown. Hope this
helps, Ben. "

im the same dude on the other site. im moving house this week so no dimensions possible. Its going to be hard to measure actually cos of the radius'. im pretty sure that small bolt will go into a hole already in the pedal box, u should be able to measure it yourself. Then just use some thick as metal and weld it up. I'd also allow for bracing on the steering wheel side of the pin, as my modded one will only support from the pin to the firewall (my bunnings mod is 100% happy still)
