Hi,
I own an AUIII Fairmont Ghia and have the following problem: Cruising at 110km/hr, take my foot of accelerator and let car slow down on its own (flat road). As the speed drops to ~100km/hr all of a sudden i get an increase in RPM of ~400RPM and a clunk (very noticeable and sounds like its going down a gear way too early?)... same thing happens when it slows past 80km/hr and then 60km/hr and the same at 40km/hr. Its almost like its downselecting gears too early(???)... I have had my mechanic have a look but he couldnt replicate it on the test drive, same with the auto transmission place (scanner didnt find any error codes) Any know what's going on, is it normal (sure as hell does sound normal when it happens!), suggested course of action?? Thanx in advance AK __________________ 2002 Silver AUIII Fairmont Ghia |
