Does the EL auto fit straight into an AU. I can get hold of the box for a good price and that would be a great benefit to me. Save about 300 if it does

im pretty sure it will fit the only difference i have found is that the oil dipstick tube is not on an AU box thats the only difference i think

point for other people wishing to do this swap......the bell housing is different....you will need to change it so the AU housing is on the box.
The EL has different hole line up at the bottom of the box.
Other than that the box itself is identical to the AU
Got mine in now..just have to finish fitting bits like tailshaft selector shaft and wiring.
Took me ages coz a couple of days after removing box I had an operation on my hand.
Hard to fit an auto with one hand I can tell you.
Thanks again to all the oval boys for the tips and tricks that they have shared during this job.
I will let you all know how it goes when I have run it for a week and changed the filters and fluid again. I intend to change them after a week of running then again after about another month
