http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrpdf/rdsafe/VSI%208.pdf Pretty simple, they are illegal in Vic too.

Does anyone have a final answer about these ??
When I had my 18's fitted @ Tempe Tyres, they did tell me that the hub adapters were illegal, yet they went ahead to fit them to my car for me anyway.... |

Basically they are illegal unless your vehicle came out with them as original equipment, or you have an engineer’s certificate complying them. Well at least that Tempe tyres employee stated the truth, not s**t. Ring or visit RTA technical services, if they say they are legal as them for a copy of the relevant documents stating they are legal (They don't have any), then visit a reputable engineer and check if they will pass the spacers. (Many RTA Approved Engineering Signatories in time will be removed because of dangerous modifications they have approved)

TTF in Dandy??? thx Hey mate, Try this ebay item: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/WHEEL-HUB-BILLET ... dZViewItem They do these hub adaptors to allow AU-BA fitment to Pre-AU cars. I'm buying an EL XR6 from Melbourne, it's fitted with AU XR rims on these adaptors, and the seller has had them fitted from day dot, never any probs ...even at the drags! However, they are actually illegal in most states (including here in WA), and most reputable wheel / tyre shops will not sell them to you! So, it's really up to you, you can use adaptors & fit your AU-BA rims and probably not have any issues ...as long as the boys in blue don't spot 'em!

I can vouch for the EBAY guy.
His billet gear is good s**t... as I have seen 2 cars with these fitted and no problems. (One was a Holden , wearing FORD wheels... desperately trying to be a ford I guess). Anyway , I reckon I will be giving these a go , regardless of the legality here in NSW... Its all a matter of the right looks for da ride !!!

Well at least that shop is legit, today at Ozy wheels (or what ever they are called) in New Lamton (Suburb of Newcastle) didn't give a stuff they were illegal, straight away offered them and looked at me stupid when I mentioned they were illegal. (The young fellas looked like toss bags that would drive ricers)

When i went to the tyre factory about these about 1.5 years ago i asked about adaptors and the guy brought them out from under the counter.
He said we can sell them to you but you dont get a receipt and you cant bring them back yeah no worries d*ckhead, i left after that and on the same day they wanted to give me $200 for my EB GT rims with tyres... thats for a set of 4 not 1 i'll never go back to them... 1 of the worst places ive been service wise

On the site above it says they are mechanical engineers. so wouldnt they be able to send out a certificate or something with the adapters to say they are all good |
