I have recently swapped an e series diff into my au and the tail shaft didn’t look like it’s in all the way am I able to put an eseries tail shaft in? And does an eseries trans bolt straight in?

no idea re tailshaft other than measuring to workout the length needed & then hunting around for it.
re gearbox - yes you can as i put an EB1 box into a AU2 wagon with no issues. if your able to swap the bellhousings around as the earlier doesn't have two lower bolts. been led to believe it won't matter not swapping em .. but.
