Will a AU diff fit into an EL XR6? I have a friend that wants to do such a conversion. Are the two diffs the same lenth?

The diff will fit, but the au diff is longer by about 3 inches to accomidate the different wheel offset of au onwards..
You may need to modify the handbrake cable slightly aswell

Hey Troyman, sorry to highjack the thread. If the diff conversion can be done can you run AU onwards wheels properly or is the front of the e-series offset too different aswell?

AU diff means you could run AU+ wheels on the rear, but you'd still need Pre-AU wheels on the front.

yep pretty much as MAD said... or run au wheels with hub adaptors up front..

I have heard of suspension conversions to the front which pushes the offset out to AU, but they start to get expensive.

i converted the FRONT to au offset with a UPC big brake kit and the REAR with an AU diff, its good having more options for wheels and the bonus of bigger and better brakes all at once.

eaton M112 supercharger, lowered a tad, extractors, 2.5" exhaust, T5 , custom SureCam supercharger cam, 3.45 lokka, 2 piece tailshaft, poyair bags in the back, TSS front Skirt, Sprint skirts, XR wagon spoiler.
soon to get: AU diff, upc 330mm brakes, Vapor LPG injection.

the brake kit was $1200 on one of there auctions and the diff was a couple hundred and i just put my lokka in it. i havent got the handbrake working yet tho.
