Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me because I can't seem to find a solution to my problem anywhere. The lower bearing in the steering column in my AUIII has collapsed and fallen back out of the firewall and against the intermediate shaft. There is now no support for the column and has movement where it fits through the firewall. I have been told the only way to fix this is with a second hand column and use it complete with ignition barrel and everything, meaning I would have to get a new lock set. Does anyone know of someone who can replace these bearings or where to get them? Any help would be much appreciated. |

im not sure about the bearing, but you can swap the ignition barrell and key reader ect from your column and fit it to a replacement column...

Thanks for the advice Troyman. I have fixed the problem. In the AU Falcon the floor plate that carries this bearing is able to be separated from the column itself. So with not a lot of effort it can be changed. I am currently looking into putting a new bearing into my old plate as a spare, as you can not buy a new replacement and I had to use a second hand part.
