hi guys, im wondering if its hard to get at the solenoid on the transmission of an au auto fairmont sedan? my dad is having issues with starting, have to slide the slector back and forth a few times, or put it into neutral before it starts. im thinking thats the gearbox solenoid failing?
any help is appreciated

That will be the selector/inhibitor switch on the outside of the box, two screws to replace. Try adjusting the linkage first.

ok cheers guys, any ideas on price for parts? also what is the linkage and how do i adjust it?
