Hi,
I have an 07/2002 AU III SR and the Front Disk Caliper Pistons are non steel, one piston is damaged, the price of steel pistons is much less, so does anybody know if I can put steel pistons in instead of the non steel pistons?
I would replace both pistons in that caliper at the same time if necessary.... unless it would be ok to have one steel piston and one non steel piston in the same caliper.
Thank you,
Mike.

Yeah it does when you want to provide correct advice - be nice to know some background.

Generally they aren't, they're usually damaged upon attempted removal.

Well, I finally found out, thanks to Knights Brakes in Cairns, that Steel Pistons will indeed fit in the calipers that Non Metallic pistons come out of...!!!
Problem solved...!!!
