Hi All,
I know BA brakes fit to AU11 and above but is that all dependant on the K frame? So if you fit an AU11 k frame to an EB (as much hassle as it would be) does that mean BA brakes will bolt to the EB? Will the upper control arm mounts be in the right spot on the EB?

Will the upper control arm mounts be in the right spot on the EB? yes it's all dependant on the AU k member, which has been done in a EB. the BA brakes will be going onto the AU uprights & the upper control arm mounts will be in the right spot on the EB as long as you have mounted the k member correctly. some have used the AU upper only on the EB [with an adapter] to give more [i think it was?] caster. eventually i want to fit the AU upper to my EB. |

Thanks Mad. Wasn't sure if there was different geometry in the wheel arch between EB and AU that would prevent the brakes from bolting up, even with the AU11 K frame. Pro's for fitting AU K Frame: - House an AU sump without modification. - House AU steering rack. - Ability to fit BA brakes as an upgrade over standard. - Already have AU11 donor car for parts. Con's for fitting AU K frame: - Requires engineering certificate - Time consuming and a lot of work. - Kinda gotta get it right the first time As my topic suggest, I'm looking to fit the AU K frame for the purpose of brakes. I know there's big brake upgrades available for around $1k but they have downfalls as well. Pro's for Big Brake upgrade: - Bolt on - Complete kit Con's for Big brake upgrade: - Fairly pricey - None OEM proprietary parts IMO, the benefit of BA brakes outweighs the convenience of the Big Brake upgrade kit. I think the None OEM proprietary factor of the Big Brake kit could be a huge downfall especially when parts for the kit become unavailable.

if you use the AU stuff the wheel offset will change
and you will need AU onwards rims for the front and e series rims for the rear

I already run FG wheels all round, the offset shouldn't be an issue.
Especially on the front.

Will do, planning to commence most of this work during the upcoming victorian School holidays as my work holidays fall in line with them. Most progress will be detailed in my garage build thread, but will update this thread to let people know.

There's another benefit to this conversion - much better engine mounts.
