ok.. this is now the 4th time this has happened. i havent been driving much lately (exams), at most once a day.

so i hop in, start it, drive out of the driveway, o maybe a km. stop at red light/intersection, accelerate from standstill around the corner, car moves a bit, then starts revving for 5-10 seconds, then clicks into gear, and off i go, sluggish for about 10 seconds, then back to normal.

any ideas? its always after the car sits for 12+ hours, and always in the first 1.5 km of driving.

the car is an au2 fairmont ghia (vct engine), and just pushing this side of 85,000 km... (s**t... 25,000 km in 4 months... nice work!)

anyhoos, is this the end for the not so great auto box? do i finally have get my manual i have always dreamed of!?

(P.S. if anyone has a 6 speed available for the 6 pot engine, PLEASE LET ME KNOW)

mine does the exact same thing, usually attributed to low trans fluid (or in my case a terminally fried transmission)

does your trans have any other quirks? selecting a lower gear (3-2-1) does nothing in my car, it just stays in drive.
