Anyone have any idea why my AU3 auto slips when put into drive only when the gearbox is cold,such as in the mornings??.It goes into reverse fine and when it does go into drive it drives and changes fine.Gearbox has recently had a service,but not a flush.

could be low on oil or the solinoids are playing up

Fluid should be fine,but will double check anyway.What about the gear position switch,would this be a likely cause?.Also should i replace the S5 solenoid?.

Could also have burnt some clutch s or a cracked c2 piston

its low on fluid! if you dont run the trans through the gears after the initial fill it will be low on fluid
by nearly a litre,it will be ok when its hot because the fluid gets airated from the pump and brings the level up enough to mask the problem!http://www.mpskits.com.au mobile performance shift kits |

Thought id update this...
madmax4dr you are exactly right,when i did the trans service i filled the pan with 4 litres of TQ95 fluid and didnt go through the gears....untill 2 days ago i bought another litre of fluid and filled it while going through the gears,it took the whole litre.Now the gearbox is shifting perfectly,lucky i didnt fork out for another gearbox like i was going to. |

my auII is doing the same and it has a leaky rear housing seal. i put it down to low oil but i've been lazy and haven't bothered attempting getting the fill plug out that some incompetent fool has rounded off... same with the sump plug...sump thread... the old fuel filter fittings... almost anything serviceable. some people just shouldn't work on cars.. makes it hard for the people that know how to.
