Hi,

I have an AU3 with a leaking steering rack.
The rack is leaking from the left hand side where tire rod comes out.

I was wondering if its worth repaiting or buying a new rack?

Can you get a kit or o rings to repair the leak?

Is it worth repairing the rack ?

Would it be better getting a new / refurbished rack?

Thank your for reading

A reco rack from Ford will set you back $410.00, a seal kit for the rack is $210.00, in my opinion not worth the trouble to have it overhauled.

I can only speak for the Ford reco rack, they are very good ones and have more than just a seal kit put in them, they are done properly and come with a 12month/20,000 klms warranty and are covered by ANY Ford dealer in Australia.

The BA/BF would fit on the car but the angle from the shaft to the column may be a sticking point?
The intermediate shaft is different and it may be that you would have to do a lot of modding to hook it up.
