Ride: AUIII Fairmont

Hi, I have just brought a series 3 fairmont with only 1 issue.. the ABS is dodgy.. heres what happens
- When the ABS is on (dash light off, every time i restart car) the brakes feel clunky on the pedal at speeds under 40km if you know what i mean.. also makes a springy sound ..
- Eventually after driving for a while the ABS and Traction Control light come on, and the problem with the brakes stops

So could I for the time being take the ABS fuse out to stop brakes from clunking?
and what could the problem be? I think it may be a dodgy sensor or ABS module but i havent heard of the brake symptoms..

thanks heaps . tom

You cannot remove the ABS fuse. This disables thermo fans.

Thanks i hope its not pricey to fix but then again the car was only $3700 with 140000 on the clock
I hope ford can diagnose it but the previous owner says they couldn't..

We had an AU come into work with a similar problem.
We cleared the code with a scanner and it seemed to be okay.

Not sure if it has stayed off yet.

heres what i found when that happened to my au fairlane series 3 the abs modual was screwd or it could be needed new brake pads and bleed but normaly the abs break light just its self comes on
but change the ABS modual its on the drivers side of the car with the break lines going into it cost me $250 from wreckers of $350 for a reco one
ring around
