hey all.
ova the christmas break i just pulled a motor out of a eb and replaced it with a better condition 1 but now the auto box is dropping its oil from some where in the bell housing. i've never had this happen before when doing a engine swap and im just wondering what 1 should be looking at when i rip the box out. cheers.

Did you have the TC engaged properly? If not you may have damaged the pump or housing.

it seemed to be when we pushed the motor and block together (was outside the car) the box slid on without out any force needed so assumed that it was all sweet.

you probably damaged the fron pump seal which is where to tc snout runs
if the converter wasnt in proplerly you would have smashed the pump gears and have no drive.

pump seal is stuffed better to buy a reco box saves a lot of pain in the long run

You need to remove the TC from the motor, carefully fit it to the gearbox, then mate them up to the motor.
The oil pump seal is easy to replace, plus there is an o-ring on the input shaft that would be good to replace. The driveshaft seal should also be replaced, and the bush in the extension housing should be checked for excessive wear. Also drop the pan and replace the filter.

the same thing happend when ma box s**t it self on my EA so i just got another box and wacked it in with the existing torque converter and then went and brought trans fluid and it just came out as i poored it in so i removed the box put new front rear seal in it and put converter on 2 box put it in then pulled pan of and did filter filled it up wiv new fluid bin sweet ever since
