Is there a simple mod I can do to stop the auto kicking down to low? it likes to kick down to 2nd on the freeway if doing 100 or so. I'd like to be able to give it full throt and only drop back to 3rd. Same doing 60ish, it kicks back to 1st which is no fun

Anything that can be done here?

maybe adjust driving style??? ie knock it into 3 rd and then slowly bring on power.
or just go faster and it wont kick back over 200kph

Yes, allready adjusted thanks mate... but it kicks back at half throttle, and thats where the fun is. I'd just like to be able to nail it at 60 and let the big torque do it magic

Isn't there a way you can adjust the 'full throttle kickdown' point?
I remember reading it somewhere.

well I inadvertantly fond a way with my shift kit.

with it wired up wrong I could shift into limphome mode 3rd and reverse only. it holds third all right and no kickdown ever from take off its third.

Really weird when i first tried it.

Its still a trick i might use on next dyno run and see what happens

Be good to have a switch to change it from normal auto to full manual auto

Don't think you can, as it's a mechanical change to the box.

But yeah, would be a nice idea. As mentioned previously. Cut the speed signal to the ECU will force the box into 3rd, but if you manual shift it 1,2,3 will work. 4th won't work IIRC.

Ok, so with this wire cut it will select whatever gear the lever goes into? Or will it just stay in 3rd no matter what the lever is in

well when I had a fuse blow, it cut the speedo signal (the cluster was dead), and it if in D would be in 3rd 100% of the time, as I was rather annoyed with the 0-100 times strating in 3rd, I shifted it and it worked, manually select 1/2/3 it worked. But 4th didn't.
