My Auto doesn't seem to want to drop into 4th gear (overdrive) while in Economy mode, until nearly 70km/h. This is not very economic. On the other hand, if I flick to Power and back, it will stay in 4th.

Can anyone suggest that there is something wrong? Or is it possible to be changed?

Does this ever piss you off? Driving around in Third constantly? Or do you leave it in power mode?

I'm just trying to save fuel as I'm only getting about 360kms before the light comes on?

I wish my auto wouldn't try for fourth until after 60, I usually lock it in third to stop it. Reason being that otherwise when i give it a bit it alwauys has to drop backa gear then, and it's not reving high in thirs at 60ish.

when i had my nc 6cyl and had the air con on it would hold 3rd to about 70 then drop to 4th. i think it would be to do with something maybe using a fair bit of power so the ecu holds it in 3rd until there is enough revs to supply the power demand in 4th.
just a stab in tha dark

While mine was still a lazybox, it would go into fourth at 40km/h on no throttle in either power or econ modes.

At normal acceleration it would typically go into fourth at about 55-60km/h in econ mode, in power mode around 70km/h

Sorry I can't be of more help.

And the NL FBT..

I find even out of adaptive mode mine will change into forth very early if not accelerating much, in adaptive its a whole different barrel of fish.

So what do you guys think? Just go get an Auto place to check diagnostics? One dude said it'll be $33 to hook it up, but he might find the problem pretty quickly?
