I've had my T5 in the Ghia for a good while now, get's driven hard, and it's holding up, to a mild I6. I do prefer the manual, i can grab gears pretty quick too, but when i'm towing a trailer such as a car trailer i do miss the auto.

I think the Auto Vs Manual question is a bit about personal preference as much as it is about which box will live longer. There is one or two cheap mods to do the the T5 to make them live with a lot more power for a lot longer....

Cheers

because the BTR has s**t gearing.

Yup, but i really dont thing you can beat a BTR with a high stall, shiftkit and 4.11's

Yes, you can.....sh!t top speed!...............LOL

The 4th gear in BTR is very long as well. with 4.11's @5800rpm you will be doing 252kph. Which i think most of our 4.0L wouldn't even get there.

That would be 25" tyre diameter????.....250kmh.........forgot about the 0.68 overdrive.

Has no one heared of a full manual valve body..  best of both worlds if you ask me
Ive had 351clevo's with a top loader and a c4 behind them, there is no doubt that a top loader or manual is heaps of fun to drive but an auto with a full manual valve body and a good converter gives you all the benifits of an auto with the fun of a manual ...

that would be great if somebody actualy made one for the BTR
