I'm looking at buying a manual BA.
Is the manual 6 speed in the BA mkII worth spending thousands extra on? Considering I'm going to leave the car stock will the 5 speed do? Also... probably a silly question to ask on a ford enthusiast forum but if I buy an XR6 will I forever regret not getting a turbo? Edit: Just seen that BA fairmonts are going for far cheaper than XRs whats the auto like in these? Should I just get the manual for the fun factor, or do Fairmont Goodies > Manual XR |

So many questions..
Why not sit down and write down what you would like to have in the car you want to buy, once it is down on paper you can see something more definite than juts in your thoughts. The BA XR is a nice vehicle but having said that, the Turbo is for sure the ants pants Only YOU can make your mind up at the end of the day. If you are looking for something sporty and not great super power than the plain XR is the way to go if not, you know what else you can do to get the grunt machine you may prefer. I would be rather happy with a 4 speed auto, they are reasonable good transmissions if looked after and personally, the man wouldn't be something I would be looking for, 5 OR 6 speed. |
