I was driving today and when i stopped the ABS light come on, I turned the car off and back on and it was gone. Then as I pulled in my driveway there was like a shudder from the brake and the ABS light came back on again. Any ideas how to fix this or how bad the problem could be?

Looks to be be either a dirty or faulty ABS sensor. The easiest way to fix it, is take the car down to Ford and they can put it on the dignostics machine and tell you which sensor it is. Alternatively you can clean all 4 sensors and see if that fixes it. But my Money is on a faulty sensor.
Common occurance in the BA's. |

behind each brake disc. the have a small bolt holding them on. undo bolt and remove sensor and then clean of any dirt/mud/metal filings off sensor. refit and repeat on each sensor. then see how you go

oh lol. sometimes i forget that i know this s**t. yeh just jack up, remove the wheel, look on the back of the disc and you'll see a sensor with a wire comeing out of it attached to the suspension assembly by a think a 10mm bolt.

Jack it up, wheel off, have a look around the back of the disc (google will show you where to look with some pretty diagrams) and give it a wipe, wheel back on and drop back down.
My mechanical experience is rubbish aswell, and i could do this, so you should be right! |

sensors have been cleaned but it's still not fixed, looks like I might have to take it to a mechanic!

Take it to ford (if you can) they just whack it on the diagnostic tool and it will tell you the exact problem.
