I think I'm dreaming  , but if you don't ask you'll never know..I was wondering if anyone has tried to fit BA -FG complete front suspension including alloy cross member brakes struts etc into a XF or earlier Falcon front Chassis.
After watching how bull at a gate the Yanks (Gas Monkey Garage etc) are fitting Crown Victoria front suspension into early fords, or Mustang 2 front into early mustang, or even the SN95 mustang strut suspension into 60s- early 70s mustangs, I suppose what I wish to do is fit the likes of a RRS kit but use factory parts if possible. As some of that RRS stuff just looks too reverse engineered.
I want Power Rack & Pinion , The Bigger Brakes, and even maybe run BA offset wheels on the front at least.

A lot of that stuff is commercial off the shelf parts made to fit/upgrade those model cars
You could probably get a 330mm rotor conversion kit for a model A ford over there

Being an XF you can get bits from hopper stoppers, and changing some stuff over with and E series may be another option.

Yeah E series might be easier and I have some reasonable DBA drilled and slotted rotors at 297mm on there now , it was more about the steering . Another thought I had was dare I say it Nissan S15 and McPherson Strut.. except I don't like cross breeds.. but the lower arm and radius rod look similar on the Nissan to the falcon front end.

The only X series falcon that could fit the bill is an XH with a big brake conversion.

What is the reason that you say this. I am not looking to follow convention. I don't necessarily want easy or logical. Its more about trying to be different. And as I have already fitted fg g6et dash just seems like an option.

Don't get me wrong, I've done enough mods myself that were deemed 'impossible'. Thing is though, suspension requires spot on position of components, particularly with what you want to do, getting the rack position particularly, so you don't add unwanted bump steer. The XF spring/shock/upper arm is vastly different to the later SLALS setup. An XH has already the setup you require, and you can go a bigger brake upgrade kit, or fit a BA/BF crossmember and add the brakes that way.

Thanks but that does mean finding an XH Panelvan shell.
Not an easy task in Nz at least. Maybe I need to source one direct from Aussie. But then I have difficulty registering it in Nz. Stupid maximum age of import laws unless I can prove it is a classic. Maybe retag one but still Vin numbers are a problem. I do know that I can register it as home built but almost have to fit airbags and crash intrusion bars abs dsc black bla etc to make it up to current standards.

^^^^ Be handy to find out the owner of that red ute.

XFalcon forums might give you more info on what you want to achieve.

It's the colour as Mine. Already started to change things. I'm going for a colour change from the red interior & matte black exterior to hopefully emperor violet I think the colour is called. See photos https://www.flickr.com/gp/54830224@N05/pDC648

So it's similar to yours - not yours ??

What sort of clearance do you have between the brembo caliper and the rim on the GTR ??

Same colour as Mine
F6R has about 6mm clearance on the brembo on the versus wraith rims the other wheels I tried had about 1mm. Too close for me so decided to not go that way.

Yeah, with a floating caliper, 1 mm would be not enough - a bit of wear on the slide pins, and I'd say some contact of the caliper with the rim at speed . . . . .

My setup has around 4mm between the caliper top and the inside rim - sounds small, but heaps of room when you see it in real.
