Had the BA on blocks doing the brakes + 1 front hub bearing u/s (new slotted disc rears and Ripco pads allround on slotted fronts as well seems good on initial test) decided I'd change the diff oil. LSD diff & got the 100% syth. Nulon gear so all good... Thought I'd better check the filler plug and do a little pre clean around it etc. as you do.. Question/issue is this... How the farcarping hell do you get the plug undone?
I could not get a spanner on it to even see what size it was, let alone turn it I tried a socket but it seems to interfere due to being to close to the housing WTF?? Anyone know the size of this plug and what to use to get it un-done???? or is this a "special" Ford tool? mmm maybe a tube spanner? a socket machined down & uni joint (can do)??? I wonder who else has been caught out..... I can't say how close I came to dropping the oil first..... |

1 1/8 or 26mm socket, should work fine. Did mine a week ago, hardest part was gettn the fluid in, until I remembered where the pump was!
