Hey guys, bit of info, car has 215000 on the clock, transmission serviced every 12 months, never flogged just cruise around in it, anyways, driving thru Dubbo on the way to Bendigo, and the car started to produce blue smoke, so I pull over and find transmission fluid leaking, anyways baby it another 30km to a servo and stop and call nrma, still shifted fine no weird noises, anyways mechanic puts it up on hoist and says its the torque converter seal, but when I ring him the next day he says he more or less suspects the oil pump in the box is shagged, could he be trying to get more money out of me? Baring in mind the oil it was leaking wasn't terribly bad but bad enough, so what I'm asking is, should I believe what he is telling me and get it fixed (expensive) or tow the car down here and pull it out myself?
Thanks in advance, Brad |

Those seals are a nuisance but as to telling you the Oil pump is shot, new one on me. Why not take it to a SPECIALIST and ask them. It's better to find out from someone who works on transmissions all the time than an all-rounder.

as papa said the seal from gearbox to torque convertor is a O ring right on the input shaft of the box.
so its box out job. take it to a specialist.

Get a second opinion.
