I am having trouble with the left handbrake drum. It has basically unclipped and is a waste of space. I had it put back on and after a tight slow left turn it would seem it has fallen loose again. Is this a problem. Ford service centre at botany Auck were no good, they didn't find the problem. Took it to a very good mech in he hills. Interested to know what the solution is for this.

if theyre adjusted correctly in the first place theyre not a problem. the problem is people over adjusting them... over here in aus there is a ford TSB to fix the problem of it all falling apart. i dont know if NZ get the same tsb's but its a new bracket and clip setup to hold it in place only on sedans iirc |

The only solution is to sell the car like I did... otherwise the problem will always be with you I had mine looked at every time it went to ford,it used to scrape all the time chuwsp... chuwsp... chwusp ... The last time they said it was my tyres, well with all the other crap with the car vik...BA plastic gone...

take your car for a mechanic check this time. my friend had a similar issue on ceraminc brake pads sticking. adjust the handbrake seems to be so hard.
