have a ba gtp when i start it up and put it in drive it makes a weird noise sounds like torque converter not sure car sits most of the time hardly driven i know it has a problem on start up with timing cog until it gets oil but its the trans that makes the noise

How long for? it could also be the starter not retracting quickly enough and dragging itself off the ring gear. If not.

Whe/if was the box last serviced. BA should be 4 speed. get it serviced or take it to a specialist. My box did a similar thing, then I lost 1st and reverse, the planetary gear was rooted and its used for both 1st and reverse.

But, it sounds like its time to go to a trans specialist and get them to diagnose correctly.

been sitting for 2 years started and moved every 6 months i don't think its starter as when i start car i leave it for a bit to warm up and run the fluids but as soon as it hits r it makes a noise like the torque converter grabin after warm up it sorta seems ok no noise but i know its not so won't drive it an its a 4 speed auto v8 gtp falcon
