Does anyone know if you change from manual to auto gearbox, do you have to take your car to the friendly ford dealer to have the computer learn that you now have auto box? (I had to go through this when i fitted cruise control to make it work.)

wouldn't it be a pain in the a** price wise and practial wise like by the time you got a new gearbox etc pedal box all that jazz might be more benificail to sell the manual and get an auto.

i got an auto in my ba and im in toowoomba only an hour away from brissy! wonder how much it would be to swap them...

to swap them without acess to a wds u need to swap PCM, Various Wiring Looms, BEM, Ignition Barrel..
if u have access to a WDS u can definately just relearn the PCM to the new BEM/ACM/Ignition switch, and you MAY be able to do a tear tag calibration and not change the PCM
