Thanks for that info, I am planning on making an improvent on that if all goes well.

Here is my plan:

D is adaptive mode (I dont have it so who cares), when you flick it accross it will select 3rd gear and be in performace mode (if you are in 4th, or 3rd to start with), otherwise if you are in 1st or 2nd and flick it accross it will instantly choose that gear and go into manual mode, will also drop to 1st in manual mode when you get to 5/10kmh or less.

If what 4.9 EF posted works then holding gears will also happen.

Updates to come after re-programming of chips and more road testing, stay tuned.

Well done Dellboy,
Don`t know what all the fuss is about especially with all the retrofitting that goes on these days, hopefully it will make your car nicer to drive and a bit quicker. I use it in my and love it.

Will the BA shifter be needed, or just a custom electronics kit, and some buttons. Cause I'd be interested more in 'f1' style than hacking up my console to fit the BA kit in.

No the electronics can all be installed without the BA Shifter, you will just need an extra control box to add the buttons, the mounting of the paddels or buttons will be an intersting project, anyone done it, or willing to try it.

I'll be up for it, I was thinking just some extensions where the cruise control button are.

The Shift controller is around $140, the gear select display add-on is about $40, and I will have to work out the button controller and let you know if you are still interested.

So I want to keep my EL shifter, how'd we go about putting it into SSS mode? leave it in D and press an extra button and paddle away, put it in 3rd, then go the paddles.

extra switch would be one way, or have the paddles become 'active' only when power mode is enabled, there are a few possabilities, have a think and tell me what you want.

I'd prefer some sort of extra button/switch, as I always drive in power mode. 'Econ' s**t me.

OK it will be switchable, and I think for best results will only work when the switch is armed and power mode is chosen.

Use the econ switch as the SS button...to disable the econ mode, and one way it's in power mode (non SS) the other way its in SS

The switches can be done in any order at install time, can be bridged to be always on, left switchable etc, all user configurable, but you have to have a standard you know works to start with :0)
