I did at least 3 times the amount of burnouts in my 230,000km EA then by my BA. Anyway, as some of you would know, my dif has been screwed for some time, making wheel of fortune sounds and banging sounds every now and then. But I havent had the time and money to fix it. Well today driving down blackburn rd, it went bang, car jerked a bit and now drive is the same as neutral. Luckily, i was able to roll into a side street. Now everything is as expected, only when I put the car into park, I can hear this f**k up sound like someone is moving a tree brach underneath it, only park though. Any idea what it could be?

go back to ford the ba's have a problem with diffs that is well documented by ford and aftermarket shops they can in cases from what i know still replace the diff id go back and cut sick

2 pinion diffs FTMFL.
Could be CV too? Cam, my mate brendan is thinking of flogging his diff, but he'd want an LS diff to swap over.

yeh, well i'm thinking now, just to replace dif with standard, and try to sell it and if feasable get an xr6t.

at least the driveline in the turbos are a bit more up to scratch and this 1700kg N/A boat is getting a bit boring.

Thats brens plan as well, return it to stock and get a MK2 XR6T with the T56.

yeh, I was looking at mk II's (with ironed out bugs) with the t56 too. I've been pondering it for the past couple of weeks.
And frank, I dont think ford will change anything seeing as the car is 2002, modified and their diffs were never a major recall.

The BF's are still pretty exe compared to BA mk2's. The auto is quicker down the quater, but IMHO the t56 is way more fun. better on a track too since you have clutch control.

fair call, i much prefer the ZF box over the manuals coz i find the manuals to be a bit clunky at times.
obviously it comes down to what you can afford, but a BF is a much more refined car than a BAII. |

This exact same think happened to a mate of mine in his 5.4 BA ghia.
Got 45,000km out of his diff. I cant believe they went back to using 2 pinions!? I mean like what the friggen hell is that!? They are weak as wivins piss.

Cam dont buy a ba mk1 or 2
Get a BF - hold off and save more coin for one of them The BA's still have s**t diffs and driveshafts My diff was replaced at 70,000 kms - E series were built to a lot higher quality Even things in the interior arent up to scratch Put it this way - i wouldnt buy another one

Don't even get me started on f**k ford gearboxs, diffs and driveshafts! I've had all 3 either burn up, overheat or blow up in this f**k ute
 Waiting for my 3rd gearbox now, 5 speeds are gay so getting a 6 speed, had a diff rebuilt cos it leaked oil and was f**k (needs to be replaced cos its s**t) and had my tailshaft snap in 3 on the dyno cos ford use the old au aluminium ones on a torquey v8?? And their clutchs are f**k useless haha. Becomes a lil bit costly when you have to fix/upgrade s**t like that
