as anyone else driven both AU and BA falcons and noticed that the BA's have much heavier steering??

does anyone know why?

it depends if the au has speed sensitive steering, i do know the racks in the ba are different but mainly the mounting and the input shaft, they are the on the opposite sides (front /back) the steering in the ba is more responsive and sensitive but that could be due to the improved suspention

Mate, thank f**k its heavier then an AU. I hate the AU's featherlight steering , and so do alot of other peoples.

the au's steering is light?? lol you should try driving a bloody xf... i drive mine around with one finger....

My understanding both AU and BA had speed sensitive steering.

I've driven a couple of AUs and a BA. The BA has much, much heavier steering. Feels like you driving truck in comparison.

:D hehe yeh I've owned an XF, EA and EL and the XF was definantly super light steering!! :D

its feels heaps heavier, especially when the ba has 17 x 8's on it

i drove a Ba XR6 yesterday and that was first thing i thought wen i started driving... was 'this steering seems so much heavier than my EF'

yup the ba has big time heavier steering but it more accurate and has better fedback than the au !
although i can park my au on a dime now....

heavy steering try a Ht kingswood witha 253 and 215/65/14!

Also the XR6 and GHIA is heavier/different to the XT
