Does anyone have any pointers on where to look for a noise over bumps that sounds like a loose wheel trim? I know it aint a wheel trim coz its got alloys on it! but thats the noise i have mostly from the front but also from the rear. Im thinking it might be a swaybar link or something but havent looked yet. Any ideas ?

I know BA's still have problems with front lower and upper balljoints wearing out prematurely.
Maybe grease the front swaybar D rubbers, when dry do become noisey over speed humps. Also the rear stube axle balljoints/bushes do become noisey.Due to poorly constructed bushes and balljoints. Hope that helps.

Do you have the Brake dust covers, the disc cover things that are meant to stop the wheels getting really dirty really quick? I know dads made a noise until he had them looked at.

no doesnt have those covers, best way i can describe noise is that it sounds like a loose wheel cover over bumps.

i know what it is. Its the brake pad shims rattling. This was a common issue on all ba's. You have to remove the pads and peen them with a hammer where they sit on the shims. Sounds harder than it looks but when you get the pads off youll see what i mean.

It was the pads rattling in the caliper mount due to the fact that the anti rattle shims had lost their tension. I just gave them a tweak and now its quiet as a mouse!
