Hey guys,

A mate of mine just had his BA2 XR6T into ford for a diff swap and after getting it back the rear suspension is sitting about an inch higher (distance from top of tyre to guard)

When he queried it the mechanic said its normal and because they pull out the entire cradle from the rear end to do the replacement the suspension decompresses. They reckon it'll settle back in in a few weeks.

Sounds a bit sus to me. I'm not sure what this "entire cradle" business is and if the BA's have anything funny going on in terms of advanced kajiggery (technical term :P ) but when I did my diff swap in the EF everything was immediately as it was before.

Is this normal ???

Cheers

So what actually happened Vik ?
What didn't they align properly ?
I certainly wouldn't have been paying them to fix it after they stuffed it!!

The BA diff assembly in the Sedans actually can be removed entirely from the whole car, all the bushes and springs need to be completely removed to remove the diff centre. When replacing the centre all the bushes and springs have to settle, its accurate.
