Umm, AU/BA have the same 5 speed with a different bellhousing unless it is an XR6T, XR8 or GT. All V8's and Turbo's got the TR3550. Input shafts are different lengths (can be modified to suit, Barnacus had an EA T5 in his V8 Wagon). Bellhousings are, AFAIK interchangable, but i could be wrong. Hope that helps.

I know the boxes are different because I rebuild the things at work, they bolt/line up to a AU.XXX housing, but as was pointed out to me, which I already know, the shifters are further back.
67RCE Maybe I did not make myself clear enough, its TOTALLY different from a E-Series & AU series inside, they are a prick to work on, and parts, well ... $2200 was the last BA box I did, thats how much my company charged them, because the sins cost about $250-$300 EACH thats whole sale, you can't even put a BA auto in a e-series or AU series because of the pump inside them ... laticia.

5th gear is popping out sometimes- no noise except fee rev for a sec put it back in and it's good again.
Took the console out and top of the shifter thought maybe the sleeve was worn, that was fine, selector arm's fine too. Someone said something about a spring? Or ill need to do a new 5th gear over drive, and do the others at the same time....? |

Funny that you work in for a Box and Diff rebuilder and don't know the correct info. The AU/BA shifters are in an IDENTICAL location. You'd probably be thinking of the XR6T box on the rebuild, finding a BA T5 is hard. Also, a BA Box won't work in an E-Series or AU yes. That you are correct on, but it isn't the pump, it's the wiring inside the box that's different. I Think you need to get some facts straight Laticia.
