hello everyone :D
bought my first ford a month ago, (quite impressed) although i need some advice

i have a 2003 fairmont Ghia Craig lownds edition enhanced by Stone brothers racing team.
5.4ltr v8. auto

my issue is, the transmission seems to be kicking back a gear on occasion, and to be honest. totally random times but not just for no reason. when i slightly increase acceleration after slowing down to take a corner, she will drop back and attempt to send me sideways.
now there is enough delay so that i can release the throttle with out the wheels actually spinning.
besides cars pretty neat,
ss induction kit is the only real mod i can see.
almost 150,000km. quite possibly time for a tranny service? or does anyone have any other advice for me.? cheers

If your in Sydney ring Freds Automatics at Greenacre and get a price. They are gurus with Ford 4 speeds. Id say between $100 to $150.

A full flush and service will set you back around $300 odd.

Cheers, not too bad, just another thought tho, now. Because it has been tinkered with by stone Brothers racing (apparently, has the SBR badge. Also came with custom plates) do you think it. Could have. Anything to do with the ecu or other settings,
Has a SS induction kit and KnN air filter.?
With that said, im going to get the tranny serviced anyways so im sure ill find out. Shortly, thanks everyone for all help, bunch of. Legends

Im sure back in the BA days 2003 Lowndes drove for FPR not SBR. Ingall drove for SBR.
Ingall had a signature XR8 sedan BA (Enforcer Devil R)
Lowndes had the signature Rip Curl BF XR8 ute.
Get the tranny serviced first and see how she goes.

its funny u say that because i havent been into fords ever. and i dont follow v8's n all that, iv been trying to find info about my car and i cant find a C.L signature fairmont, although it has SBR badge on the back and the C.L signature on the sides, and SBR personalized plates,
either its semi legit or someone had too much free time on their hands, in any case. ill get the tranny looked at this week but all in all. love the car. and thank you very much for all of your insight. much appreciated

I decided to look underneath my car today and found extractors and cats, nice little suprise, would this cause any problems with the transmission? Ecu ect?
