Hey everyone- just thought i'd give you an update on the conversion for those who are interested. I completed it today and everything works perfectly! Basically i bought floor shifter and wiring harness from the wreckers...checked what colour wires i needed from loom and made new harness and fitted it straight into my connectors at bottom of left & right "A" pillars. (matching wires were already in the other half of connectors) , fitted floor shifter and cable, plugged in new harness and we're cruisin' ! Adjustable steering column next on agenda...Thanks for your comments/suggestions. Forgot to mention that obviously computer etc. in XL ute is the same as XT sedan (unless it has auto headlamps).

auto lamps were picked up in all vehicles with the MKII Upgrade, at which point a mid series BEM was also fitted...
Column shift BA's log DTC's for the tiptronic switches having open circuits, and i suspect if u looked hard enough under the dash u'd find the loom is already there

thanks for the info expression...mine's a 12/02 model with povpac everything. Had a search under the dash a couple of weeks ago and found nothing relating to tiptronic loom...however i did have wires to both orange and white connectors drivers side and orange and grey connectors passenger side, all at base of "a" pillars behind kick panels. All i had to do was use harness with 5 wires from base of floor shifter to connect up both sides to those original plugs. Should have done this ages ago...much better than column cranker !
