Hi guys, can anyone confirm if I can use a LSD from a BA XR6 or 8 in a standard BA ute? Other than the speedo drive, will I be required to change anything else? Thanks in advance.

Hi again, the only reason I ask is because I rang a wreckers and asked about one and they said I would need to upgrade the drive shaft and a whole lot of other things to put an XR diff in a standard ute. As far as I can tell it should all be the same to bolt it on the leaf springs. And why would they change the flange for the drive shaft to bolt up to it? Anyway thanks again.

They are trying to rip you off.

The Diff housing/mounts are the same for the live axle whether it be Std Ute or XR.

They were the same for the AU, only difference will be the diff ratio.

Thanks guys, you really did re install my confidence in Fordmods  I just wanted to check, because I really don't want another 2 pinion piece of s**t. I will ring them up again and tell them I have a XR just to keep them off the scent! I actually don't know much about the B Series diffs, are the XR6, XR6T and XR8 diffs the same ratio? Are they the same 3:45 as the E Series? Is there a particular one I might be better off getting? Thanks again!

Yes the standard Utes are 2 pinion, that what I was talking about. The LSD diffs are not.

i DID hear ya the 1st time . . . .....

so IF they had started $$ cutting i doubt the flange or anything was differant other than 4 pinion [instead of 2] or ratio [?]

but i'm only guessing here coz i have no real clue . . . . . plus no one was answering YOU

No worries, there is no reason to be a tard about it.

Your first comment had no mention of the flange or anything like that, you only indicated to me that you were confused about the 2 and 4 pinion centres  Hence my trying to explain it to you.

I had my answer from SWC and bry40l. Thanks for you help all the same, as said above I will tell the Sharks at the wreckers that I have a XR ute next time I call about it.

Thanks again!
