Just seeing if anyone has upgraded their 4spd XR8 to the ZF 6speed auto?
Cost/Benifits?
Did it cause much grief?

Dads got a G6ET with the ZF, and I think I could see where such a gearbox would also benefit the nature of a Boss 260. 8-)

Owners of BF XR8's - your opinions are also welcome. Factory goodness...

I will be keeping the 4spd until it gives in which will be a while Im guessing as Im a feather foot most of the time. It will go either a 6 speed auto or manual. Never really wanted the 4spd, but Velocity, leather, premo and cobra 19's done it for me at the time

As I understand, though I'm no expert... The BF lends itself to box swaps whereas with the BA it seems not. The problem lies within the software/hardware not really sure. But I've asked the question before and got replies along those lines.

Hope someone can confirm/clarify.

The BA ECU did not have enough physical memory to cater for the extra pages of data required by the ZF box. So, no. You can't do it.

Bang a 6 speed manual cog swapper up behind the motor. Its the only way you will get 6 forward gears in a BA.
