Just thought I'd post for information purposes the gear ratios and diff ratios for BA and BA MKII XR8s. I'm pretty sure they are the same for the XR6, XR6T and Typhoons.

BA XR8 Series 2 6 Speed Manual
Ratio 1 2.97:1
Ratio 2 1.78:1
Ratio 3 1.3:1
Ratio 4 1.00:1
Ratio 5 0.8:1
Ratio 6 0.63:1
Diff Ratio (final drive)
3.46:1

5 Speed Manual
Ratio 1st 3.38
Ratio 2nd 2.00
Ratio 3rd 1.32
Ratio 4th 1.00
Ratio 5th 0.68
Diff Ratio (final drive)
3.23:1

From what I read, the XR8, GT, Typhoon, XR6, and XR6T all have differeing gear ratios now, each is ment to be suited to that particular car... That's just what I read elsewhere...

XR6 reamains unchanged at 3.45, same with stock falcon at 3.23. Turbo gets 3.73 and the xr8 gets the 3.45. I think thats right :?:

does the NA XR6 get the T56?

You'd be a d**k for buying one otherwise. People say, i buy one cos i cant afford fuel and insurance on a XR6T etc etc...I can almost understand that, but f**k, what a heavy boring ride. XT's are quicker too (cos of the weight, so im told)

I believe in FM v1.0 there were a few topics going around with people with first hand experience saying that basically the Standard BA XT, does the 1/4 mile time a tiny bit quicker than the Stock XR6. And yes damn WEIGHT issues again

Big deal, the xr6 may be a little slower but it is a much better looking car than the xt and it has a better ride. I would never go back and buy the xt becasue it is a tiny bit quicker. Its like your going to race it at every set of traffic lights anyway.

These days the BA XR6's are really just for someone who wants a sporty looking family car. I mean there really no more of a performer than the XT's, actually there slower. So I'm guesisng that most of the XR6's sold are auto anyways.

yeah true but fit a set of extractors and exhaust and you have well over 205 fwkw which isn't bad. A very low 7 seconds to 100 is pretty good for day to day driving.

I actually own a xt with lowered pedders suspension and xr6/8 rims. I'm happy with it it goes pretty hard for an auto, but at the end of the day it is not a xr6, its not just the speed but the interior, suspension and looks.

There's a guy on another forum that has the xr6 with ext, exh and cai and pulls consistent high 14's for the 1/4. Try that with another model falcon with only those mods.
