Hey guys , i was driving back from oberon today and the ute was vibrating a lot when coasting above 70km/h.

The vibrations were enough to vibrate the crap out of the cab to the point where it was unbearable

This also happens above 60km/h in neutral or clutch disengaged and noticed a weird ticking noise around the back of the motor / bellhousing area sometimes when slowing down to stop. Also the vibrations go away if you keep it on the gas but as soon as you let off a little the vibrations are back as well.

Im going to inspect the universal joints tomorrow but if anyone has had a similar problem before and knows what it may be i would like to hear about it as this has me a bit stumped at the moment.

Could be the Spigot bearing at the back of the motor or the bush in the rear extension housing of the gearbox.

Can you document the repair procedures by any chance, as im about to attack same job on mine... ?

Got a the tailshaft balanced and found it was out of balance , some weights have come off and. now all back together and drives fine

out of curiosity how much did that set you back? the one in my ute needs balancing but it only wobbles over 140 which I haven't been too concerned about because I've heard shaft balancing is expensive.
