Can anyone tell me what this bar is called? And when hitting curbs (hope people dont do it to often lol) is this usually the first thing to bend? Cheers

It is an anti sway bar.Without it,your car would lean over dramatically as you corner.

Sweet cheers mate, I noticed it has been a bit loose when turning left hand down since it happened so may explain it... What controls the toe in on the back wheels?

No rear toe in adjustment or rear camber adjustment. is a live rear end. not adjustable IRS.

Maybe they are not tracking square to the body?

Yeah the front of the wheels sort of curve inwards. Noticable if you look strait down on them. Probably been like it the whole time and im just paranoid about nothing lol

the sway bar moving in its mount means your diff is probably moving side to side
i would be looking at the wats link at the rear of the diff..
this is what stops the diff from moving side to side..

I think the whole diff may have moved when i hit the curb, Hit it with some force, wet day s**t road, dumb me. Is the wats link the big round type thing that the panyard rods connect to?

Drop it in at the pros for a 4 wheel alignment balance.

god damn it, to bad the ute didn't come with anti-rear sway bars.

there is no panhard bars on a falcon... they are the cheap nasty commodore equivalent...

the watts link is the two arms and the centre part that bolts to the diff... It allows vertical movement and stops sideways movement... If you hit a curb really hard you're most likely gonna break the hat on the back of the diff where the watts link bolts to it...

If the wheels are indeed not true then you've been either the diff axle or the diff housing... easiest way to check this is to jack it up put it in d or 1st and let the back wheel revolve... stand behind and make sure it spins true, if it flops all over the place you've bent something and you'll probably need a whole diff (cheaper than paying someone with a laser to straighten it I'd reckon)...

if your unsure best to get a wheel aligning place to give the rear end the once over to make sure nothing else has cracked/broken...

Cheers,
Tim

Ok so done the axel stand thing this arvo, passenger side wheel drives strait as... Drivers side, well its not to bad, bit of a wobble when looking down on it but its not all over the place, maybe its bent something a tad, will take it to the aliging place and see what they say... Is the diff its self the only thing that will bend to make it do this?
