So I am about to order a set of DB1108SRT (street road and track pads) for the EF racecan. Best price I have currently seen is $226 for the fronts. These are only the pads. I know they are pricey, but I need to know the car is going to pull up all day.
I am deciding to run these as I have had them in the TE50 for a while now and have been impressed with them in that. What I want/need to know is. Can anyone get me a better price? $226 is 1/2 of the initial purchase price of the bloody car!! I am not expecting to get 50% off, but wanted to perhaps give someone the in the industry the opportunity to make the sale instead of ebay. SRT's in my book are AWESOME, for the coin its hard to go past them, but then dropping $226 on a set of front pads is a big ask. Yeah, they cost even more for the TE50!

Would nearly be better off running with a standard set and copping the limits of them for the meet and looking at a dodgy brake upgrade afterwards.

Based on that fact my Mum is the best around! |

What I am mostly after are perhaps not the best stopping brakes, but brakes that stop all day. The car is being setup to be dual entered, so its gonna cop twice the abuse. Even a good set of bendix backed with dot 5 fluid and braided lines work very well - As far as e series brakes go. The SRT's, for what I am trying to do, currently fit the bill. Troyman has already directed me to what looks like a 330mm upgrade, but simply do not have the cash right now. I am going to run out of tyres before I run out of brakes anyways, but I need to be able to stop, everytime. The s**t thing is, DB1108 pads are pretty much exclusive to the Aussie falcon, meaning I cannot even look overseas for options.

I get my brake gear from Hightek Brakes here in Melbourne. I believe they used to be a sponsor here on FM.
