Hi, changing diff ratio soon and in the hunt for a simple to use speedo corrector, must be fairly cheap too i guess.
I know Jaycar have one and ShiftKits.com have one thats a bit dearer, are these both easy to fit? Anyone got any more they can think of? |

depending on what diff ratio you are going to, go to ford and get the right speedo cog for your speedo sender. pretty simple to fit and usually around $30.
Im not sure how legal the speedo corrector kits are, I guess if they let you know your correct speed then its better than not knowing. |

Cheers i might ask Mal wood but im afraid of the price its gonna be quoted to supply and fit
I also wanna go from 3.23 ratio to 3.7. Im not sure the 23 tooth gear will fix it enough. Its a manual so i dont have to worry about shift points, what wire do i tap or cut into on the dash cluster. I tried doing a search but a few threads seem to be unresolved.. |

I been thinking about swapping the cogs over to fix the speedo.
Im guessing its already a 21 tooth cog, would a 25 tooth cog fix the speedo if i went from 3.23 ratio to 3.7? My maths are horrible, so im not sure if ive calculated it the right way Is there even a 25 tooth cog to fit the T5 box? |

Just give Mal a call mate, he'll be able to tell you straight off the top of his head. I havent done it on a ford, but it was piece of piss to do it on a commodore. Put the car on ramps, at the side of the transmission you undo a few bolts and the sender comes out. The cog can then be taken out and put the new one in. Like I said it only cost me $30 or so to be sent over to Perth.

Yep, i rang them up and the lady at the desk said "im sure they'll get it reading right for you"
If it costs under $100 i'll do it their way, but anymore and i'll get one of those Jaycar kits for $50+$60 to put together. |
